After all these years I just discovered...
« on: September 23, 2006, 11:56:30 am »

... that I can have a "virtual" file in my MC library!  :)

I found the link to a video clip hosted in the artist's record label webpage. Opened the link with MC, imported it into the library, tagged it with name, artist, album, year, lyrics, cover art, etc. .... and that's all!

Now when I search my library I "see" that video clip as if it really was in my hard disks together with the other ones that I have by the same artist... and I can play it, put in a playlist, etc., in a completely transparent way for the user (as long as the host  does not move it away).

Is it not amazing that it took me all these years to know that? Oh, man...  ;D

:)

This is how I maintain my list of internet radio stations. The Web Media 'feature' has been turned off here.

Ah, nice one, Marko!

We don't have access to music subscriptions in this part of the Old Europe (Spain), but I wonder if something similar could be done with it... I mean, mix your own songs with the songs of the subscription provider in your library and play/manage them all in the same way I explained with the video clip link. Is this how it works?

I do this as well.  I have a "Web Radio" genre that I use for internet radio stations, and the "file" paths are actually internet paths to these stations.  Unfortunately, with web based radio stations coming and going all the time, these days I tend to just use Shoutcast "Tune In" links on the Shoutcast website.
