How new users can buy MC 12?

I finally talked a friend into getting Media Center. Since MC 12 is almost ready for public beta (just guessing here) it wouldn't make sense for him to purchase MC 11 if he has to turn around and buy MC 12 once that is available. What is he to do?

Any MC11.1 downloaded in the last 30 days and purchased will use an MC12 license, so he can update later and it should work fine.
