MC12 Features and Prices
« on: June 26, 2006, 01:31:08 pm »

MC12 is no longer available.  Please see the MC13 board.  Old builds can be found in the FAQ on that board.

If this is your first purchase of JRiver Media Center, the price is $39.98.  Purchase from the Help section of MC12.

Any purchaser of MC12 after August 8 automatically received an MC13 license that works with MC13 or MC12.

If you currently own Media Jukebox 8.0 or Media Center 9.0, 10.0, 11.0, or 11.1, the price to upgrade to MC12 or MC13 from any of these is $19.98. PLEASE NOTE: You will need to have one of these installed and correctly licensed before you will get the upgrade price in MC12.

MC13, MC12 and MC11.1.191 (or higher) can co-exist on the same PC.  The libraries aren't compatible so they need to be in different locations (which MC12 does by default).

 MC 13 upgrade prices are available.

How to purchase

Here's the new feature list:

* New and improved default look "Noire"
* EXIF image tag information is imported into the library for use in view schemes, searches, etc.
* New "Display View" that replaces Full Screen View and Windowed View with a more streamlined look
* On-the-fly bad pixel filtering in images to mask CCD or other defects with images
* New default Mini View called "Slim" that's based off the standard skin
* Media modes replaced by new left navigation system in player
* Major speedups to searching (over 11x faster), sorting (over 3x faster), view switching, and program startup
* Burning multiple CD sets at once as well as splitting large audiofiles (books, podcasts, etc.) across discs
* Improved support for Audible files
* Improved handheld device support
* DVD filter selection
* Filter selection, color controls, and many other video playback enhancements
* Otto -- Background (auto) import with optional folder watching
* New tag system for streamlined file organization and tagging
* QT video thumbnails
* Transparency in menus
* Animated buttons on mouse-over
* Cover Art display in Action Window
* Mouse-wheel zooming and panning for video, DVD, and TV
* IPTC tag support for images (read and write)
* Theater View navigation improvements
* Theater View animation
* Improved network sharing -- first user has r/w access, others have read/only
* Caching of converted files for uploads to handheld devices so conversions happen just once
* Integration of google video, YouTube, Shoutcast and other media streaming services
* Improved upload of images to web sites
* Free web storage of photos and videos -- Pix01
* Camera acquisition feature to allow a copy from clipboard or scanner
* New -- plug-in architecture for Theater View and sample plug-ins for weather and news
* DVD ripping of unprotected DVD disks
* Library Sync -- Copy files from another PC by starting Library Server on the first PC, then Library Sync on the second.
* Radio MC -- Adds tracks to playing now based on a track you've selected.

I've been using MC12 for about 5 minutes and I've decided it's worth the money already, great work guys!! However, it's probably me but I can't see where to upgrade from (I already have MC11.1) and while I think it's great, I'd rather only pay $19.98 than $39.98!! No offence intended....can some kind soul point me in the right direction please.

Thanks

Thanks.  You need to have the prior version installed and registered to get the upgrade price.

Hi Jim

Thanks for the really quick reply. I just downloaded and installed MC12 on my work laptop, MC11.1 is installed on my home PC so that's why I dont have the upgrade path, I'll install at home and upgrade from there this evening.

Thanks again for your help

Hi, I am trying to upgrade my license of MC11 to MC12.0.90, but the upgrade price is 39.98? I thought it was 19.98?

Am I still be elligible for the discounted upgrade price?

You may need to install MC11.1 and make sure it is registered first.  Restore if necessary.

Should I install MC12 without removing the MC11.1 registry entries?

Best regards

If you're upgrading from MJ12, you can install MC12 and run it without uninstalling MJ12.  MC12 can convert the MJ12 library.

You can uninstall MJ12 later.
