Tag Field
« on: November 26, 2006, 08:09:06 am »

Hiya,
Sorry for so many posts this weekend.
Just had a 'productive' weekend and been trying to get alot of things done so been using MC alot.

With the tags, would it be at all possible to make them so we could re-order them?

Just like drag fields up or down in the Action Window so we could put the ones we want access to the fastest and most at the top?

Then just have it saved on a Per View scheme level maybe?

Safe to assume you're talking primarily about images this weekend?

Have you tried switching to details view, and selecting those columns you would like "access to the fastest and most", then switch back to thumbnail view, and in the tag window, click on the icon in the very top left corner and choose "show tags in current view"

To be honest, its also just alot for ease of access.
Might still want access to the other fields, just ones like 'name' or 'comment' are going to be something using alot more for Images for example.

Anyway, just an idea that I thought might not be too hard to add :)

What Marko didn't perhaps explain well is that if you have the Tag window set to Show Tags in Current View then it puts them in the same order as they appear in Details View.  That way, you can order them however you want by simply moving the order around in Details View.

if he'd tried it, no further explanation would have been needed :P

Anyhoo, worth adding, if you've not discovered already, that using this system, you can still add other tags to the tag window via right-click > also show...

What happens there, is that the tags that match the selected columns remain at the top of the list, and the "also shows" are placed in alpha order below them.
we owe a "thank you" to lalittle's persistance for this option.
Thanks Larry!

Happy tagging jb. (if you keep on tagging images with build 120, remember to do an "update tags from library" on your files once the iptc writing is fixed in a future build)

I somehow missed this back when it was posted, but I just ran across it now.  You're quite welcome -- thanks for the kind words.  I'd of course like to return the thanks to you guys as well.
