Failed opening Wave File
« on: November 28, 2006, 07:20:44 pm »

Have a real devil of a problem!  Whenever I try to use the recorder is transfer albums to digital audio I receive the "Failed opening Wave File" error message.  This happens using MC 11.1201 and using lossless .wma formating.

Anyone else having issues with this???

I found no information on this in the MC archive, and have never heard of it.

Is it all Wave Files, or just some?

do they play in another player?

have you installed anything recently that may have changed this?

have you tried to reinstall MC and allow it to take control over this file format?

what application is currently Assigned?

Control Panel, Folder Options, File Types?

Does That Application Play The Wave File?

I can record uncompreesed wave file format just fine.  This error only occurs when selecting the lossless .wma formatting option using the MC recorder to capture audio from an album.

Steps I have taken to date are unistalling MC 11.200 and installing MC 11.201.  This did not solve the issue.

When the error occurs I have to stop the recorder and restart.  The file size is "0".

Guess I should select another lossless recording format and move on if there are no suggestions.

Previous .wma formatted selections play fine using MC,  this error only occurs when recording  new selections.  I wonder in Windows Media Player 11 I recently installed could be causing issues???
