I went to Mexico City this week for Televisa's formal press conference on the release of the player we built for them.  It includes the Televisa Esmas stores for digital audio, films, and live TV.  Our press release from August describes the initial soft launch:

They've had more than 1.4 million downloads of the player since then.

The press conference had about 20 newspaper and TV stations there.  After that, they showed it off to about 175 people from Televisa and their advertisers.

I'll post some pictures next week.  It was quite a show.

Televisa is the largest Spanish speaking media company in the world.  They have more than $3 billion in sales each year and $1.5 billion in cash.  They have a lot of talent and determination and I expect them to be one of the winners in the digital space.  It's a pleasure to be part of their new effort.

A lot of money?  Why don't we quote JimH here:

I'd call that a lot of money.  Let's say they pay you what I think MC is worth--they'd still have a half a billion in cash left over, and you'd have some serious walking-around money, JimH. 

If it was me, I'd take that billion in cash and go straight to Vegas, see what it could get me in terms of, (cough), "hospitality".

Taking an average factor of, say, $1,000 a night, that would be $365,000 a year in hospitality costs, which would have you burning through your stash in, oh, 3,000 years.  There are worse ways to go, JimH.
