They are completely separate databases.

I think MJ9 sould be out soon so maybe if your worried about adding cd's to the DB you should just wait.

I think what J river did from what i can understand was take the current FreeDb database and convert it to there format and basicly setup a new service.

what i would like to see is J river to provide a DLL to programers (for sale) to allow them to include the DLL in there program to get info and include info in the MJ database.

This also would increase J river Profits (something i like)

Also provide hooks to the database inside the mj automation programing (free to programers). This will allow programers to create plug-ins for MJ.

From time to time i also think that the FreeDB should be scanned for new CD-roms and the new Cd-roms should be added to the MJ database.

With this database that MJ now holds could be a valuable tool for profit (I Love Profit). if J river could create a simple OCX\DLL to programers for CD lookup's and ByFile Lookups J river could buy Microsoft Stock. and when JimH gets To 51% then he could then Take Over the world.

OK

There is few things that i have problems with concerning MJ.
My project was to send an email to Jim about it.
But we are made of meat and some brains.NERVES also.

We are also people with more or less nerves.I have nerves this evening.Nothing to do with MJ.Jim has nerves as well,do not know if because of MJ,Interact or other things.

So let put this big mess of nerves together and find out.

I understand that the start of YABB is FreeDB.I speak about the data.
If it is gacenote,i'am wrong and just delete my post.

Ok you start 'a new cddb'.You cannot take data from cdbb, you take data from FreeCD.
YABB is not an only MJ feature.
YABB wants to be the next cddb.
And make money with it.OK,THOUSAND TIMES OK.
But try to make a bridge with both data.

cddb is here ONLY BECAUSE OF US.
Now do we have to think that YABB will play the same game?

I do not mind to be f--k,but i want to choose who f--k me.

Now,as i said one or two months ago,i found an US student ready to upload cds . Not only my cds,but all the cds i will get from around me.We are now speaking about few thousands cds

This cds will be upload to FreeCD NOT to YADB.
So tell me,if you know a load of cds being upload to FreeCD,you will not import the new data?

If yes ,i would be VERY happy. To have help a DIY place and to have give to YABB more data to succes in his commercial  trade.

But things need to be say.If not black on white, minimum in a way that give answer to some on this place.

If this post delete,i would like it only by JimH.
I would like very much my post to stay here, even with the post close.

.....but,as i say,we have nerves today\this evening

Anyway,shalom to all

Zevele,
We started with the freedb database of tracks.  We wrote the code from scratch to do a new lookup.  This is on http://www.yadb.com .  We informed the freedb people, and we will have a friendly discussion about whether we can work together.

If you want to write something that gets more tracks from freedb and inserts them into yadb, you're welcome to.  For now, we aren't going to do that.

It is not simple.

Ok
Look like nerves calm down on both sides.

As i understand it:for a start you toke data from FreeCD.
But was only as a first steep. After that, each program is indee without links.

So .if i want to help both ,i have to upload both data.
Very very long task as you know

If i upload to you, there no raison ,no logic for you to share it.Something i 200% understand.

This is not a problem for me,even if some posts about 'wind from the great lakes' do not stay one minute on this forum...[not your fact i think].

My problem is to give to both.Look like there is no way.
Do not know what to do....maybe just play my cds on my stereo as i used to do.

Anyway,i do think you get the good side of the rope concerning cds infos ,and sure you will collect in short time the result of it.

Listening [in my mind ]to Nerves

In case you do not know the Nerves: it is a band who did one  four songs EP in the 70".
In the band was Paul Colliins-Jack Lee-Peter Case.To the ones who love rock music, this names sound hight.
One of the song on the EP was 'Hanging on the telephone'.
Many of yours may know this song from the mtv band Blondie

If you want to listen to the $XXXX original EP,email me

Zevele,
We're not trying to withold data from freedb.  We just don't have a way to do it and there are plenty of other things that have higher priority.

Our primary goal is to make database lookup work for MJ users.  We are not trying to make money from it.  Just make it work.  It isn't easy.

We took a look at tying into freedb, but we decided it was not a good solution.

We may make some of what we have done available to others.  Not right away.

I deleted your ill wind posts.

Some days there is more hostility than others here.  I try to keep it pruned back to a minimum.  I have deleted a couple of my own today.

I found Rhino's first post insulting, but I realized when he posted again that he did not mean what I thought he did.  Things are polite and cordial between us now.  I didn't explain it because I thought it was not necessary.
