Inverted orientation of FLV file
« on: February 04, 2007, 03:20:00 am »

Today I imported a couple of FLV files into Media Center 12. When I attempted to play them with Media Center, the program accessed the Internet to download some files needed to play this file format. Then to my surprise, when the video started playing, I noticed the picture of the video was totally inverted, left to right as well as up and down. These files played fine in another FLV player. Has anyone encountered this issue? If so, what did you do to resolve it? Thanks.

I haven't heard this before.  We use DirectShow filters for FLV playback.

Perhaps you could track down a third party FLV filter and install it?

Anyone else have any ideas?

I have not seen this either.

As Matt mentioned, perhaps it is caused by DirectShow filter(s) not handling your files properly. If you know (or have found) a filter (decoder in particular) that would work on your files better, you can tell Media Center to use it.

Tools -> Options -> Playback -> DirectShow playback settings...

Select flv file type from the list and click "Select Filters" button. Check one or more fillters from the lists that you would like to use for flv type.
