Has anyone ever used their iPod with the Honda MusicLink system while also using MC?

The specifications say it requires iTunes but I am wondering if that is so.
Apparently, it creates text-to-speech files that are copied back to iTunes (or MC) and are used to navigate your iPod while driving.

I don't have an iPod because I would not use iTunes, however, I would maybe get one if this combo of hardware and software worked
