We've added a way to share your pictures and videos on an online web page. It's called Pix01.com.

To use it, you'll need Media Center 12.0.185 or above.

Here's how to start:
1. Select a few images and right click on them.

2. Choose "Share to Web"

3. If it's your first time, you'll need to enter a real e-mail address and a password.

4. Provide a Title and Description ("Summer 1997" and "Our trip to Montana", for example) and mark the gallery public if you want anyone else to see it.

After a few minutes, you'll receive an e-mail (from Pixie) with a link to your new gallery and any previous galleries.

Visit Pix01.com to see other galleries:
At Pix01.com, there is a simple search for now. You can search for "Montana", for example, to see the public gallery above.

You can also maintain your own galleries there by choosing "Sign in". You can make a gallery public or private and you can delete any galleries you don't want to keep.

I know Pix01 is an original name but I'd like an easier to "tell someone" name. It's like Flickr...if the person doesn't know about it, you have to spell it out.

A way to link galleries is needed. You know, to create a photo album.

Showing the description above or below the images is needed too. Not everyone holds the cursor still to see if there is a tooltip. Even if they do, it is smaller and hard to read.

Otherwise, all works very well. I was especially impressed with the amount of time it takes to generate and upload.

Did I miss something, how do you browse the public galleries or do you have to use the search and know what you're looking for?

Right now, there's no way to browse other people's galleries without searching. But you can search for the letter "e", for example.

This will improve in the next week or two.

You can make a gallery by typing a description and clicking 2 or 3 times. It's pretty easy.

Hi,

is there an Option to create a new account for PIX01? I would like to choose a different mailadress. The reason is, that I don't receive the mails with the link to my Gallarys.

If you specify a new email/password at the login prompt you should have a new account. If you had selected the "remember password" option for the login page you'll need to click the "options" link in the action window and select "Clear remember password flag". (Suggestions for better wording are welcome.)

What account should we be deleting?

What account is used for this site? The same as for the MC interact forum? I cannot create an account, I cannot login and the upload fails as well

cause I'am reading a lot of this new feature and I thought it works already??

First time you use it you enter your valid email and whatever password you choose and an account will be created automatically.

E.g. I'am selecting one image only, clicking on (via context menu) "Share to Web" - the "Share on Web" action window pops up with "Drop files here" - I enable the option "Clear Remember Password Flag" - I click on Create - it asks for password and then I get "Unable to upload gallery." - I click on Cancel and get "Submit Failure." ... nothing more.

Then I tried directly over pix10.com:
I clicked on "Sign In" - entered my mail and a password and I get "Login incorrect - try again"

As Info: I'am using a proxy ... do I need a direct internet connection?

thanks for your Hint. Now I'm able to change my Mailadress, but my mainproblem still exists:
I tryed three different Mailadresses, but never got a Mail with the link to my Gallery.
I created accounts via gmx.de, web.de, msn.com - nothing works for me, no spamfilter installed. Wheres the failrue?

Go to pix01.com and sign in to see if you have any galleries. Do you know what time it was that this last failed? (Also, try a 1 image gallery.)

All the Gallyerys it created in MC, hab also been created on PIX01.com.

The last try was yesterdy at maybe 5:28 PM MET (Paris, Berlin). Don't know wich time it was in forumclocks time

When I first created a gallery I just clicked OK with my mail and password filled in by default. I don't know what password was used so I can't delete/change my anything and I can't create a new gallery with the same mail on another client.

Great service. A suggestion. If you make a gallery public it would be nice to have a counter to see how many visitors you had and maybe the possibility to leave a comment for the visitor?

Somehow I'm not getting the email from the system either. I provided a Hotmail address originally, plus pressed "Forgot Password". Both time, the system said that I would send me an email. Nothing has come in in the last hour... I've received and sent other email with success during this period.

Hotmail's junk filters may be automatically diverting emails from Pixie. Pls check if you haven't received emails after creating galleries. We'll see what we can do to tackle this.

We're changing the site a little:

The home page is here:

If you have an account you can sign in. If not, MC12 will ask you to register the first time you try to upload.

We could use some help on design. What you see isn't final.

We expect to add recent albums and popular albums on the home page like this:
Popular:
[picture][title][description]
[picture][title][description]
Recent:
[picture][title][description]
[picture][title][description]

In addition to a home page, it needs a better page for search results, something like google's.

[Search at top]
Results
[Search at bottom]

And a page that summarizes your albums (aka galleries):

[picture][title][description]
(sorted alphabetically or by date)

There will be a similar page for you to manage your albums (delete, make public or private) when you sign in.

We're trying to keep it simple, but is there anything missing?

Sign-up is automatic through MC. The webpage is under development and the sign-up will probably link to an instruction page.

This will change next week, but right now you need to search and they'll be listed. Try searching for "e", for example.

currently 40 megs
