Tagging in MC12 inconsistent with WMP
« on: April 20, 2007, 09:09:16 am »

Hi!
Just noticed that after tagging thousands of albums that the meta data stored inside the files during tagging in MC12 (rename files from properties) is not consistent with other MP3 player, i.e. imported some albums at a friend's into his WIN Media PLayer library and the on some albums the genre did not show up as it does in the MC12 library and as I saved it, also some cover art, which is perfectly displayed in the MC12 library, shows up as missing in other MP3 players. Anyone any ideas why tags sometimes will not show up the same in WMP or other players as they do in MC12 library??

Make sure you select this option if you want cover art to move with your files:
Options > File Location > Store images in tags also

After changing it, you'd need to do Library Toos > Update Tags (from library) to resave the tags to include the image.

As for genre, MC should nicely support all the major tag formats. (ID3v2, WMA, APE, OGG, etc.)  What file format are you using?

You can view a full tag dump here: Action Window > Tag > Format (right-click to show the Format field)
