Installation Failure NT

Hy

I would like to try your app, but had no chance so far.

I tried several of the version 8 builds but i allways run into similar errors.

I'am running a
NT 4 Server German SP6 (b1381)
On an Intel Pentium with 366Mhz with 512 MB RAM
  Family 6 Module 5 Stepping 2 Revision 0502
ATI RAGE PRO AGP 2X
Crystal Audio Onboard Sound
Latest Adaptec ASPI
LiteOn LTD 163 DVD
Yamaha CRW2100E CDRW (16/10/40) not newest bios as i was unable to update.
Normal IDE as well as U-100 Raid Controller (only used as normal IDE without RAID)

Its for sure no clean install, with lots of trash spread around,
but i have not beeing having trouble with lots of other recent instalations.

Problem is that i allways get a BSOD just before finishing de Program files registration step of the install procedure (no matter if Standart or Custom installs).

It seems that on my latest try (8.0.355) the Media_Jukebox.exe isn't
even a valid or complete exe though some of the other executables state "Failed to initialize Registration Control" on a try to start them after a restart - as also did Media_Jukebox.exe at previous tries with former builds.

Have someone experienced the same and/or offer some good ideas on solutions (no clean install please )

Did you get the file from our downloads page?

Do you have admin rights?

Thanks for the fast reply

Yes i have admin rights and used them to install and test.

I tried the one from the download page some months ago without luck
and retried now several times this month with different builds downloaded directly from FTP via the links posted in the forum.

If you're using FTP, don't do the file called ...update.exe unless you have previously installed a FULL version.

I whised it was that simple but i used this one:
ftp://ftp.jriver.com/pub/downloads/music/MediaJukebox80355.exe

I may try the one from the downloadpage again. Maybe it helps....
but i fear not, as the previous releases tried linked nearly all to the same name (..../MediaJukebox8.exe) as the downloadpage does.

That one (355) should be best.

Have you tried updating Windows?  IE/Tools/Windows Update.

You might try deleting the registry entries for Media Jukebox entirely.  It is.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\JRiver\Music Exchange\1.0\Media Jukebox

Uninstall and clean out your Program Files/J River/Media Jukebox directory.  Reboot, then reinstall.
