 ? i'm a bit beyond my wits here.  just installed mc on new machine and connected it with my library of say 30,000.  and it hangs for 3 minutes, then gets free for a minute, then hangs for 3 mins, then free 1 min, then...

not even playing music, just navigating.  is there something i should do.  should i uninstall and install?

Try installing build 233 from the top of this board.

Disable third-party plugins.

Unplug connected devices like iPods, etc.

Also, if you have a lot of podcasts, try temporarily disabling podcasting to see if it fixes the issue. (Options > General > Advanced > Features > Podcasts)

do i need to uninstall mc 12 0226 first, or just install the new one over it?

You can always just install over the top.

OK, I did everything you said and it seemed to fix half the problem (it doesnt just hang without me clicking).  Now the problem is just when i click on a genre or a smartlist etc, it will hang for a minute while filtering.  but then i notice, the second time i click on a genre it is only like 1-3 seconds.  Does it need to build an index or something?


Second, we disabled my podcasts - Perhaps it was constantly looking for my podcasts from my restored library - but what do i do about restoring them, and how do i import my podcast so it reconizes they are from that show?
