Help finding MC crash issue
« on: August 17, 2007, 12:57:44 am »

I'm still trying to figure out why MC is crashing for me.  I take my library, on an XP computer, and move it to my server's MC, running Vista, and as soon as I run an auto-import on the same folders, it crashes citing a DOM crash.

How exactly can I figure out why it's crashing?  I've tried turning on logging and can't seem to find anything helpful.   Do I just need to go to Help > Logging > Enable Logging?

Then let MC crash and open up Previous Log?

Whenever I do I just see useless information.  It's repeated lines, almost like it's saying "I'm looking at a file but I'm not gonna tell you which one."  How can I get more detailed logs?  Shouldn't the last entry be the one causing the crash?

I'm continuing various tests.  I added all the checkboxes in the log area.  I'm assuming I need Import but I just checked them all.  It did list a DVD at the end of the log (after it crashed) so I moved it to a different, out of reach folder.  Strangely enough, it was not the same File number (as seen in lower left).

I'm really going to need help figuring this out.  I need this database to run smoothly and not keep crashing.  Every time I run through the auto import, it picks out a different movie to "crash" on but I'm not even sure if it's crashing.  It just lists a certain movie as the end entry.  Anything else I should try?

I tried a different approach.  I ran it and got the next movie.  Then, without moving that DVD like I normally do, I ran it again.  This time, it did in fact crash and output an error but it crashed long before it normally did before.
