In Media file properties...
there's a note at the bottom that reads
*denotes fields stored in the file tag only

The fields that are has the '*' are notes, lyrics, copyright
what about the good stuff like name, artist, album - how do i make sure that's apart of the tag?

I think that is confusing also

And Am Not Sure What They Are Trying To Say.

I Think All Of Them Are Valid Id3v2 Tags, if you have id3v1.1 turned on only then they i know will not be saved to the file.

I don't use them so i do not know, you can save something to all the fields, delete it from the list, re-import it and see if it was saved.

With ID3v1.1 Tags You Are Limited To 30 Chrs Per Field, 28 For Comment. For A Total Of 128 Bytes.

ID3v2 There Really Is No Limit.

The Problem With ID3v2 Is it Is At The Front Of The MP3 File And MJ Needs To Re-Write The Whole MP3 File Back To The Hard Drive Everytime You Make A Tag Change.

Sinc ID3v1.1 Is At The End Of The File, MJ Looks At The File Length - 128, And Just Re Writes The Last 128 Bytes Of The MP3 File. this Makes Tag Changes Faster.

Select The Files.
Right Click
Select Properties
Select 1 File Out Of That List
Select The "Format" Tab

It Tells You There.

It Is Easy To Just Select Them All.
