Exporting View Schemes?
« on: September 27, 2007, 06:40:03 pm »

I spent a while making a nice view scheme on my server, which is where my HTPC gets its info, but want to copy it to my other libraries which use the same files but different MC database.  Is there an easy way to export the entire view scheme and then import it to another library?  If it was simply a playlist, I could just copy the search string...but it isn't.

No way to export a view scheme.

The data for the scheme is stored in browser.jmd, so you could copy that file, but doing so will replace all your existing view schemes with those found in browser.jmd...  not a problem, of course, if you simply want to mimic ALL schemes.

That would actually work very well for me.  The other users here of MC have very limited needs of MC's power features.  I don't have many requirements (on certain things, lol), either.  I just have maybe one or two view schemes under each category and if I could copy them all to all the other databases, that would be great!

Thanks--I'll definitely try that!
