It will tell you about builds that we're very sure about.  We won't tell you to update unless we think it's worth the trouble for most users.

I'm finding a few problems with 338.

1. If I try to delete some Podcastss from my library from within the Podcasts -> Downloaded Podcasts view, then MC crashes. If I delete them from a Playlist, however, then they are deleted fine. I'm not sure what about some podcasts causes the problem.

2. I had a lot of problems downloadin a particular podcast (the 10/04 one from http://www.slate.com/podcast/). It downloads to 100%, and I see it being placed on on disk with the temporary Episodennnnnnn.mp3 name, but after it seems to finish it disappears and is not renamed to the proper final name. Finally after retrying and retring I got it do work. I don't know why.

Oops, a few more little problems.

I found 1 album cover that was wrong after being synced to my iPod. I didn't check them all, but doing a spot check found this one. I then looked at the track in MC's portable cache folder and it is correct, so the problem is during the sync.

Also, I noticed that all of my synced Podcasts show "unknown publish date" (or something like that) on the iPod. Not a big deal, but it'd be nice if this field was filled in.

In my opinion the changes you made to auto-size columns were perfect in 12.0.318. Please consider restoring the algorithm to that in 318.

I don't know what this means but I know one thing fore sure: TV doesn't work anymore for me. All my channels are gone and MC doesn't detect tv-tuner devices anymore.

I rolled back to build 12.0.332 and all is working again as it should.

I just recently upgraded from media jukebox to media center,  I had it all set up and then I had a problem and had to uninstall it I got the juke box installed but when I go back to the site to download the media center again it gets almost done and stops and times out, I even tried downloading the full version and it does the samething...is there something I need to do or is it just a bug on the download site??  I have all the registration codes, media jukebox is working fine right now, I just need to upgrade it again

It's probably not a problem with the server, but may be a problem on your PC.  Try saving as a different name.  It's the Windows cache that is the problem, I think.

Opening MC with the /theater command choice and then exiting theater view (Ctrl + 1) reveals INCORRECT fonts in MC.  This is reproducible multiple times on multiple computers/configurations!

Also, when using the skin effects to add color, there is a horizontal bar that doesn't get updated with the new color.  In a playlist, it is near the separator bar between the top info area and the track listing...above the Name/Artist/Album column headers.  Restarting MC fixes the uninformed piece of skin.

I'm having quite a few problems with Podcasts in 338 (and maybe earlier). Here are a few of the symptoms:

1. Podcasts are downloaded multiple times and showing up as "folder\filename.mp3" and "folder\filename(1).mp3".

2. After deleting a listend to Podcasts it is sometimes redownloaded at some later time.

3. After deleting a listed to Podcast it is placed into the Recycle Bin. Unfortunately MC seems to then auto-import it from there. Note that this is a non-Windows Recycle Bin that is functionality of my SAN. Also note that I do have my Auto-Import settings set to Exclude that folder. However it is a sub-folder of a folder I am importing, so maybe that takes precedence. Basically it is: Exclude "M:\Recycle Bin\" and include "M:\". Should that work?

4. I mentioned it before, but since I'm here: when trying to clean up the extra Podcasts MC often crashes when I try to delete them. It crashes after I choose the Remove from Library, Send to Recycle Bin, or Permanently Delete option. This doesn't always happen, but often.

If the album has multiple artists per track mp3 then the album comes up missing under the Media Center Album Artist (Auto) pane.    This leaves me over 30 albums short under the audio album pane. The album pane will not show an album containing multiple artists on a track for a given main album artist.

I briefly thought about that, but then I couldn't find a way to change the order. I'm now considering adding the individual folders in M: instead of all of M:. There are only about 10 of them, so it won't be too painful. But, I use M: for all media related stuff (hence the 'M' is for Media), and if I add other/new media at that top level it's nice to know it'll just get imported.

1- MC still crashes when applying cover art to flac files (although appear to occur less often than previousl)

2- Possible memory leak - while importing a group of selected files (right-click - Import), opening folders, applying cover art, etc,
I have seen MC go over 100,000kb of ram, while my library is large I do not recall MC using this much ram in the past.

3- Using right-click - F2-Rename in the file list, if you happen to right-click while the File Info Tooltip pops-up under your cursor, MC will open the previously chosen tag field column to edit rather than the one you are actually hovering over. (Apparently Tooltip blocks sensing of cursor column position)
Might I suggest a bit more delay before tooltips appear?

4- Using Right-click - Locate Artist MC does not ignore articles in the Artist Name even though this option is chosn for file sorting, causing you to need to edit the search to include both names (with & without the article) manually.

5- Using Right-click - Locate Artist then clicking on the Search to edit using the Wizard,
MC places the Artist Name at the top of the Wizard's list of possible Artists. This requires manually scrolling through the alphabet to locate the Artist so as to choose the Artist's name with the articles or other variants. (Dave Holland, Dave Holland Trio, Dave Holland Trio, Etc)
Might I suggest that MC open the Artist's name list with the selected artist's name highlighted in place in the alphabet. Then you can choose the variens of the Artist name easily as they will all be located together

6- MC is not saving cover art inside of flac files although the option to do so is active. Even after using Update tags from Library the Image tag continues to show the Cover Art folder as the image location.

I checked and can see lame.exe listed running in the Task Manager as well as by my cpu's performance to verify that this is actually the case. I also re-checked my options in MC.




***Since there is already the capability for multiple simultaneous conversion when ripping and when sync'ing handhelds, could we also have the option to use multiples for file conversions within MC as well ?

I think this has been a long time issue, but supported file type lists in the sync handhelds options can't have spaces in the list.

i.e. "m4a;mp3" works but "m4a; mp3" won't.

Clue:  Try viewing an album with detail view enabled and the album contains exactly 10 tracks.  You'll always see ... for the last (10th) track in the Track # column.

When changing the URL of a podcast feed, all prior downloaded episodes are deleted. Can this be an option? Changing the feed url shouldn't necessitate reset everything, should it?

Two reports, one a long time behavioral thing, the other a recent build defect

When ripping a CD and the system is configured to rip and encode seperately, and eject on completion (of rip)

1. the progress of the encoding is not available (in the main pane) once the cd has been ejected although a lot of tracks could be waiting to be encoded. upon eject it changes to "no cd click to refresh"

2. The summary in the action window area is (in the current build) not updated after the cd is ejected and until all the track encoding processes are complete.

I'm having an issue with cover being displayed. I have files that list Image File = folder.jpg but the real file is named according to Artist - Album rules. Other files are listed by Image File = Artist - Album and these display okay.

Mc won't pull cover art to file with the Quick Find even when there is only one .jpg in the folder. I think MC is smart enough to grab that file automatically.

Image File = Inside File; many of these are not displaying either.

This has been an issue for a while now, though a search doesn't seem to show anyone else having the problem.  When I put Audible files on my 5g iPod, the chapter markers don't show up on the iPod.  They do if I use iTunes.  Any suggestions?

Ripping progress says that 21 out of 22 tracks processed, but only half have been encoded (all have been ripped).

Openning two tabs, both pointing to Playing Now, causes one of those tabs to be redrawn with no display window (the track info, visualizations, cover art window) above the file list, nor is there a grab bar to open it.

Oddly enough if you select the 'defective' tab and you click another branch in the tree then return to Playing Now, it correct itself and redraws as it should. However then the other Playing Now tab which had been drawn properly now has no display window taking the role of the defective tab.

Going back to the properly drawn tab and moving to another tree branch (i.e. Find Album) or closing it causes the defective tab to be redrawn properly when next visited as it is not the single Playing Now view.

Both this behavior and the flip-flop event are repeatable and not limited to one skin or one machine, but I have only tried this on Windows XP and have not tested it on W2K although I expect the same.
