Disable local copies of audio files?
« on: October 17, 2007, 01:40:29 pm »

Using MC 12.338...

I've got a server running that carries all the media files and the library but I'm connecting to that library with a 2nd install of MC that is on my workstation. I manage my iPod by creating a "master sync" playlist. Simple... anything on the list gets converted from FLAC to MP3 and sent to the iPod... anything that I remove from this playlist remains in my library but gets deleted from the iPod.

This is a new strategy but I'm not happy with one behaviour. The local copy of MC seems to download the FLAC from the server to a local directory then convert it and finally upload it to the iPod which is all good but it seems to be keeping a copy of it locally on my workstation. If I look at the filename listed in the playlist, it's pointing to the local copy not the remote copy that's on the server. Did I miss a setting? Is there way to make MC always treat the FLAC as remote?
