Close on Install Broken?

It appears to me that when starting a MC installation with MC running, selecting to close MC does not work properly.  It usually hangs and I just end the MC task after several seconds.  Manually closing MC works very quickly.

It is deeper than this, too, because I've started the MC install and then closed MC during the progress bar portion.  Even though MC is closed, it still pops up the error.
