Ripping CDs to single files WITHOUT cue files.
« on: December 20, 2007, 04:14:41 am »

I rip CD audiobooks files as single, large mp3s so that I can more easily save my place in the book (since having a lot of separate files makes it hard to remember where I left off.)  I need to have a single large file WITHOUT cue files, however, since cue files end up as separate files on an iPod after a sync, which completely defeats the point of ripping to a single file in the first place.  Is there an elegant way of doing this?  At the moment, I rip to a single file with cue support, then delete the cue file, then import the single large mp3, which requires retagging.  This of course works, but it's a rather clumsy method.

Is there a way of doing this more elegantly with fewer steps?  If not, might this be added as an option -- i.e. might it be possible to separate the "rip to single file" from the "with cue" so that we could choose to rip a CD as a single file without creating the cue file?  This would really help with CD audiobooks.

Thanks,

Larry
