Weird mp3 reencoding glitch
« on: January 17, 2008, 07:42:52 pm »

I am re-encoding high bitrate mp3 files when syncing to a handheld using File Cache and lame -V 4 --vbr-new.

So far I bumped only into one instance of this glitch but anyway, here it is:

-- one of the titles got intermixed with another title - the problem file was #1 in the queue and the one it got intermixed with was #3. It sounded as small (5-10 sec) fragments of #3 were inserted randomly into #1.

I deleted that file from the Cache and reencoded it again - this time the file was fine. What's interesting, the file size was exactly the same!

Has anyone experienced anything like this? Any idea why this could happen?

Thanks!
