D2 not detecting SD Card
« on: February 08, 2008, 02:41:39 am »

I'm sure first time I plugged my D2 in MC saw that it had
a memory card attached to it, however now this seems not to be
the case, and as soon as the device runs out of space MC assumes
it can fit no more on.  The memory card does not show in Drives and Devices
at all, however it does show in my computer from windows explorer.

Also I've just moved enough stuff from the D2's Internal memory
to the SD card using explorer, but MC still believes theres not enough space to place a new album
because it hasn't refreshed it's data  :(

What version of MC are you using? You can try deleting the database.mpl, JRState.xml and JRInfo.xml files from the root of the device and see if recalculates the available space more accurately.

I'm not sure why it's not seeing the SD card. Turn on logging of Handheld (only) events, exit MC, restart MC, wait for the D2 to show up in the tree, then email me the log (rick at jriver dot com).

It's not that it's calculating it incorrectly, but that if I delete stuff using another
application or even the file tree in MC, the MC action window transfer area doesn't notice,
and there's no quick way to refresh the device without unplugging it and replugging it in.

You've got mail, cheers.
