last.fm crashing MC [solved]
« on: February 26, 2008, 02:58:54 pm »

it crashes when it goes to scrobble (50% of a track played).

last.fm log shows nothing unusual, oddly.

started today, but over the past week it hasn't been scrobbling reliably.

sorry short on info, but i'm not really getting any info to give. i'm running the newest builds of MC as well as the plugin.

oh, edit: it even crashes MC when last.fm is turned off...ugly.  :P

edit pt 2: it seems the be the creation/editing of queue.xml that is doing it. according to the log, it's crashing at that point. i tried deleting the queue xml file to force the plugin to make a new one, but it crashes then, as well. on the other hand, it also crashes when "submit queue when player starts" and "reattempt failed submissions" are turned off.

If you're using the last.fm plug-in from their site, you have to be logged in.  It's a known problem.

If you're using the one that comes from the JRiver site, please tell use more.  What build of MC?

Their site requires a case sensitive login and password.  6 characters?

Please read some of the other threads on last.fm here.  You should be able to find your answer.

i'm using the plugin that came with MC12, and yes, i'm logged in.

i think i found the problem - it seems to have been conflicting with the winamp plugin (?!). so i uninstalled winamp, not having used it in months anyway.
