installing plug-in
« on: March 02, 2008, 02:42:44 pm »

I just downloaded a plug-in called "Clean Info" MJ12said that it installed it but I can't work out how to use Manage Plug-ins or other MJ features to make the new plug-in change the appearance of my display.  I expect that there is something simple and basic about installing plug-ins that I don't understand.  Thanks.

Where Did You Get The Plug-In?

Does It Work With Media Jukebox 12?

I Thought\Think 3rd Party Plug-Ins Do Not Work With Media Jukebox 12.

I've got a beautiful plugin called DataMaster. This works fine with MC and MJ  ;)

You are right. Possible you tried to activate this plugin via the Plug-In Manager. "Clean Info" is a TrackInfo Plugin. You got it installed by clicking the download link and MJ said installation is done. So just add some files to playing now and hit play. Now you should see some visualization running. If you didn't change anything it should display coverart or the MJ Logo. If not, you have to pull the black bar down. (For doing so, you must have selected "Playing Now" at the tree on the left!)

Then you will see any vis. Then right click to it and select Clean Info as shown below.

Hope this helped  ;)

I have also problems installing third party plugins in Media Jukebox.
I was trying to use one of these to improve listening with headphones
http://www.yohng.com/headphones.html
http://bs2b.sourceforge.net/

They install without error message in plug-in manager. I also can find a regentry for them here
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\JRiver\Media Jukebox 12\Plugins\DSP

However, after that I have no idea how to activate and use them in Media Jukebox. They do not appear in plugin manager, nor have I any idea where else to find them.  ?

The first link does not state compatability with Media Jukebox.
The second link I can't find where it states what it is compatible with...
You might try asking the developers of the plugins if they can make them compatible with MJ/MC.

OK, because I found it here: Winamp DSP plugins that work in MC,
where they say it works in MC  :-\

Ah, I see where you're coming from, you may have something there.
I'll leave this to someone that knows better.
