Stacks - the stack icon
« on: April 02, 2008, 01:16:31 pm »

So I have just synced my iPod with my collection and a load of stack icons have appeared next to the small percentage of albums in my main collection which are also on the iPod.  This is a bit annoying as it is unwanted clutter on my previously beautiful schemes and I didn't ask for the icons to appear...

Can we please have an option not to show the stack icon?  Right now I have no need for stacks but it looks like MC is forcing me to use them regardless??  Or is there some way I can disable them that I haven't found yet?

Cheers,

Mark

Stacks replaced the hh cache.  You'll find it in the handheld options under conversion.

There already is an option to not show the stack icon.  It is in the options under the view header.

Could you be more specific; I can't find the option to not show the stack icon...

Many thanks,

Version: 12.0.468

View: Any view scheme showing album thumbnails...

eg Audio Schemes: View->Artists yes/thumbnails yes

I only use MC with audio files and basically I don't want to see the stack icons, ever...

Thanks,

Mark

go to a view that shows panes, or switch the view to panes. hold your mouse over the header (where the tabs are when you use them), in the list choose options > show stackindicator on thumbnail. when needed switch back to the original view. as far as i can see you can (have to) set that for every view.
i guess that you have to go to panes view first, is a small bug.

 :)
gab

edit: that apparently works for the files view only.. grrr.
i guess i wait a bit with updating my handheld thing.

They are only supposed to appear in certain views.  Anything that pregroups things should not be showing the stack icon.

here is a screenshot i just took. showing stacks is off. guess artists (artiesten) is a pregrouped field. i stacked the album dreamers wich is under two artists. both get an icon.

not to hijack the thread, but what worries me about the mp3 that get stacked underneath my albums, i have a plugin that calculates the average number plays of an album. i fear that those calculations are going to include the stacks files. ill be testing that after the weekend because i dont want that to happen to my main database. have to set up it right on my test machine.

ps. it happens also with other skins and when i group with year or whatever.

Incorrect default.  It was going to be an opt out before I decided that stack icons really only made sense in file views.

470.

So I can expect the icons to go away in .470?
