I finally convinced my husband to ditch Winamp and install Media Jukebox. I use MC and do all the music management. He's going to be accessing the same music files on the server, but through his own local library. For now, I set his MJ up to auto-import but not write any changes to tags. But what is the best way to set it up if I want him to be able to edit just a few fields and have his updates imported into my library?

Another is library server.

Another is independent libraries each watching the same folders.  Tag changes from one will be detected by the other.

This is what I am currently doing. But if I want to ensure that he can only edit specific tags, what do I need to do for that? Do I need to edit every single library field in his program and make sure "store in file tags" is unchecked except for the few fields I want him to be able to edit? And would the global setting "General > update tags when file info changes" override this?

I have a few hundred gigs of music on my NAS.

I have one directory for music and another for the library.

Every computer on my network is mapped to M:\ for music, k:\library for the library files.
