I cleaned up this thread. For better or worse, the consensus of the grey beards here is that dissing the boss and the wife is poor sportsmanship. As HTH said, there's enough rancor in daily life.

BTW, KingSparta isn't a self-appointed moderator. He and doof have power to delete or modify.

Hope you'll understand. Your remarks have been generally fine and much appreciated.

I appreciate that comment. I freely admit I'm opinionated and argumentative to the extreme--and THAT is what turns people off sometimes. But I generally try (maybe I don't always succeed) to not be personally offensive.

I know KingSparta is a moderator. I was referring to some of the other no-beards around here.

Please let's all get along. I honestly WILL tone down my crescendo of argumentative style. And sorry to anyone who mistakenly took offense to anything I've said. Seriously.

This Forum Can Be As Helpfull Or Not As You Want It To Be.

People Who Use Normal Sounding Requests Get Helped My Many Users To Include J River.

People Who Stomp There Feet And Try To Use Threats And Profanity To Include Calling People Names Don't Get Much Help Not Only From Users But From J River.

But I Like It Here None The Less, My Second Home (I Don't Get Out Much)

Used to like billiards more than pool. Too streaky a pool player. Was in BB King's bar in Chicago about 10 years ago with my wife, we decided to play a little. This old dude was watching. I was awful - Miscues, table scratches, the whole nine yards. Meanwhile, my wife (who never plays) was shooting the lights out. Finally, the old guy said "Hey babe, with a little coaching, you could be something, but him' - pointing to me - 'he ain't got a prayer'. Total humiliation.
