Cover art is gone (from inside file) after playlist import?

Ive tested several files here (and several times).  After importing files to MC13, cover art displays correctly, and also shows in the tags "inside file".  Upon importing a playlist (.mpl) created from MC12, some...but not all the files on the playlist lose their cover art.  The affected files no longer display any image, and the image field in the tag is blank.  Please advise if you know how this could happen?

Thankfully the images are not really gone, because when I delete the MC13 library and re-import....the cover art is back.  Could it be that some of the files were added to my playlist in MC12 before I added cover art?
