excluding pictures from Image view scheme
« on: November 05, 2008, 08:06:12 pm »

I don't want pictures in My Music folder to show under Images. I chose "filename (path) is not" and pasted in C\My Documents\My Pictures but they're still there. I know it's the right location, I copied it from Explorer. What to do?

You can choose to "exclude" a directory from import.

When you import your music directory, you can also uncheck image types (under advanced).

You said you wanted to exclude images that were in your music folder, but you've pasted in "\My Pictures", also, there's no colon after C (C:\).

If those are not typos, then there's your answer, and if they are typos, could you perhaps clarify exactly what you have in the filename (path) exclusion field?

Sorry I mean My Music folder.  But per the above post, I can exclude images from auto import, will that not affect cover art being imported for new albums?

And if I delete from Media Library (not from the computer) the cover art now showing under Images, will it delete the cover art from those albums?

No on both.

I have the same problem and have corrected the auto-import file types as suggested here.
My "Images" library is full of album art, which I would like to delete from the library before importing my collection of pictures.
It isn't clear to me how to do this.  When I select one or more images in MC, the context menu contains an entry "Delete", but it isn't clear whether this only affects the library or also affects the file(s).

Select the files and hit the delete key. You will then be asked how you want to proceed.
