Submit your rips to it and stop complaining. You can still RIP WITH J. RIVER and pull the cd.ini in from Player & Audiograbber (both free apps) which allow you to access Gracenote & FreeDB. It's not a perfect solution, but it's easy to do and it WORKS. That's access to YADB, FreeDB, and Gracenote, before a rip so you can then further edit your metadata, and then rip with MC - what more could you want? Maybe Jim doesn't want another YADB thread, so feel free to lock this comment. JRiver is extremely responsive to problems with YADB (thanks John), and I say less whining and more ripping/submitting.

I submit all my rips to it, because I tag my files perfectly, but it still only accepts a couple per album, and it's still not great with lookups.
The audiograbber workaround is effective, it's just a pity a piece of software as good as MC requires a 'workaround' to meet user needs.
