Smartlists: CompleteAlbums with variations
« on: December 19, 2008, 01:35:59 pm »

Looking to create a the following:
CompleteAlbums All Rated (NOT Only Rated tracks of Full Albums)
CompleteAlbums AllRated but with Avg Rating less than 3
CompleteAlbums only partially rated. At least one rated/one not.

I continue to rack my brain on smartlist syntax, (searched) isn't there a dedicated thread somewhere?
Hm. I'll check the Wiki

Later:
found the wiki 101 :) http://wiki.jrmediacenter.com/index.php/Smartlists

Argh, "I continue to rack my brain on smartlist syntax..."

indeed, smartlists are fun.. ;D
and there are many ways to accomplish your goals.

for two of the three smartlists you are after i could suggest where i would start, but since i dont rate music i cant give a full receipt..

first make a smartlist with files not rated, and expand it to full album, call it 'For Sel albums not full rated'.
than make a smart list with files that are rated and expand it to full album call it: 'for sel albums full rated'.

now make an other smartlist with all your albums, but choose in the rules playlist is not 'for sel albums not full rated'.
this will give you a list of all the albums that are fully rated.

make an other smartlist and set the rule to 'playlists is all' and put both for sel playlists there ( so.. is all, not.. is any..).
this will give you a list of al albums partially rated..

i think you have no chance finding a playlist for the average.  :(

im not sure if the outcome will give what you want, and when you need more things like code, just say so.. but i think this gives at least one way of thinking to handle this.
