Can I sync an iPod Shuffle?

Media Center has intuitively seen any other iPod I've loaded for anyone.  This is my first try with a Shuffle.  It does not seem to see the device.

Should work.  It's possible it's a new model.

MC13 has more current support for iPods.

I think there must be something wrong with the device itself or the dock.  I've plugged it into multiple computers with no reaction whatsoever.
