playing H.264?
« on: February 15, 2009, 07:29:37 am »

Does anyone know of a H.264 CODEC that works with JRMC12?  I tried FFDSHOW but MC hangs when opening an AV file that's H.264 encoded.  I'm wondering what others have found to work for them.

I've used FFDSHOW with no problems.  I would suggest that you go into the FFDSHOW show settings ( I don't have it in front of me so I'm going by memorey but click start>ffshow video decoder then click codecs on the left hand side look for avi) and either change the codec it uses or disable it.  MC will then default to another filter to use for avi's.

And how is it that an admin hasn't tackled this already?  It was posted almost a month ago.  Ever since MC13 there is 0 support for 12 which is a shame.

I also have a problem trying to play a H.264 (MPEG4/AVC) .ts-file. It's a 1080i file from a Sky Sports broadcast.

Trying to play the file crashes both JR Media Center and Zoomplayer (probably because they use the same filters), but plays fine with PowerDVD 7.3. Quicktime HD trailers play fine in MC and ZP, and as far as I know, they use the same codec, only a different container (.mov instead of .ts).

Maybe my FFDShow version is too old, guess I'll try to install a newer one.
