Problem importing files / in use by another user
« on: May 23, 2009, 06:50:07 pm »

I have been trying this program out the last four days on & off.  It doesn't search my music files, when it first loads, I get this error message, (this program is already in use by another, it will only run in "read only" and no changes will be saved" mode.

I really like the sound it produces, and it plays my videos from VEOH perfectly, I am thrilled with its abilty to find just about any video my machine has stored (that I didnt know was there BTW)  but I cannot get this program to search my 1400 mp3 files.

It sounds like you have another copy running when you try to start.  Maybe another user?

Searching for music files is done through import.  Tools/Import.

Well I manually deleted the program; then went to web site and reinstalled it.   First thing it did after installing was present me with an error message that says " In use by another user, any changes will not be saved; in READ ONLY mode)  -slightly changed wording, but you get the idea.   What in the world is going on with this program???

Try to delete the file "lock.jmd" in your library folder. It should be a 0-byte file. If you don't know your library ath you can see it under "File -> Library -> Library Manager"

Don't start a new thread if you're replying.  Use reply in your old thread.

I'll merge these.

Try uninstalling, rebooting, and reinstalling.
