Cant play any songs in my Library
« on: May 26, 2009, 10:49:47 pm »

Hello,

I am new here and I have the free version of Media Jukebox. I Just updated to the newer the free version 12 today.
I have read as many posts as possible to find an answer to my delema
and so far I have not found an answer.

I think that maybe it's because my files were moved by mistake from their original folder on my computer, and because of that, the paths are lost to the individual songs. Can anyone tell me how to make the Library recognize my songs again?
Is that true and if so, how can I fix this problem while my Library is still small and in the growing stage.

Since this happened, no matter what song I click on to play, it plays one song over and over.
I can click on any song and the same one keeps playing while saying the path cannot be found.. Very strange..
I am also not sure how to tell how many songs are in the library? or how to build a play list.

I appreciate any help.
Thank-you for your time.

If you moved the base location of all of the music files, try selecting all of the files in MJ (edit -> select all)
then tools->library tools->rename, move and copy files ...
in the top drop-down choose "update database to point to new location"
Make sure only the "find & replace" box is checked
Put in your old file path in "find what"
Put in your new file path with "replace with"
Click "ok"

OR

you could just delete the library and re-import the files from their new location.
