Imported an ape file containing an entire album along with a cue file. My understanding was that songs would show up as individual items in the library as long as the cue file was stored in the same directory as the music file. I only get the one album file to show up. Any hints?

Drag-n-drop the CUE file into Playing Now (or just import) and it should expand to showing a list / library item for each track.

With APE, you can also create APL files that will work in Media Center and most other programs with APE support.  APL files are nice because they allow tagging per file while maintaining the original APE file of the whole album.
