Search using custom mp3 tag, is it possiable?
« on: July 06, 2009, 08:26:13 am »

Awhile back I went through my entire collection of approx. 15,000 tracks and gave each one a value in between 1 and 10 (my rating system)  in the "custom" mp3 tag field.

I now wish to search for all albums with a custom tag value of 10 but it doesn't appear to be working, can custom mp3 tags be searched?

Any help would be appreciated, if it's not possiable then I will have to go back to the mp3 "ratings" tag of 1-5.

thanx

You can search on any field in the library.

I would recommend creating field with a meaningful name like "My Rating" instead of using Custom.

Regardless, you can search or use the smartlist wizard to search it.

For example, this search would search a custom field "My Rating":
[My Rating]=8

You can also check the box "make this a default search field" on the field configuration so that if you type just "8", it searches that field by default.
