trying to use mp3 encoder - get error message
« on: September 08, 2009, 02:07:31 pm »

Hi,

I am trying to use the free version (I actaully have purchased a key for this program) - on a really old computer.  I am trying to convert some wav files to mp3 and it says I need a license for the mp3 encoder.  Apparently my full price v12 restore key doesn't work?  Is there an error in the free version that doesn't allow conversion?

A licensed v12 Media Center (not Media Jukebox) should need no further license.

However, I also see a v14 license on file for you, so perhaps you could just use that?

It sounds like you may have a JRiver Media Center 12 license, but you're using Media Jukebox 12.  You can download MC12.  See the FAQ for the link.

Thnaks Jim.  I was using Jukebox instead of Media center.  It is for an old laptop that I am letting my kids use for music.  Very basic with limited Ram - so I wanted to utilize the easiest one.
