Short gaps in one song

MJ8.0.315
Celeron 1.2 GHz
128MB RAM
40GB hard drive
usb to stereo-link to nakamichi re-10

I had a long playlist going.  While a song was playing, I was doing some dragging-and-dropping on the Playing Now list.  I had moved 2 or 3 songs around, when I experienced about 1 second of silence during playback.  I waited, then did some more editing, and got another second of silence.  Then two more gaps, even though I wasn't editing any more.  I waited until the song ended, shut down MJ, re-started, and experienced no more problems the rest of the night.

Anybody?

I've found that when I have sound drop-outs with MJ, it is usually because I have too many Netscape windows open; they really soak up the resources.  Did you have anything like that going on?

I would guess the same thing as LCtheDJ. Also, some programs do not correctly release memory back the system after they close, which can cause problems for other programs like MJ. A clean reboot of the system every now and then can solve a lot of strange problems.

The only application running was MJ8.0.315.

The system is standalone music.  IE and Netscape have never been explicitly run.

It had been booted the day before the problem.
