New computer, new install, DVD problem
« on: September 20, 2009, 11:04:06 pm »

As it says in the subject, built a box for the basement and when I go to play a DVD or DVD rip I get an error window that I wish I could post.  Says "DVD Playback Error" And insists I "Get InterVideo DVD XPack".  Vista 64 Home Premium, thought it included DVD playback
Any ideas other then spending money on this Xpack?
Thanks

Download Dscaler5 or never (if it exists). Go to playback options and be sure the DVD playback is set to use the Dscaler for decoding. It's one of the best there is. Yoda would say: Free it is. Much to wonder about it's not.

Thanks for the help.  I un-installed, reboot, re-install CCCP and all is well.

Yes. CCCP also does the trick in most cases. It supports a lot more formats than only dscaler does to.
