Back speakers - no sound

Hi all

I have my pc sound going through my av surround amp, when I use MJ12, almost no sound is in the back speakers, but sound is there, very clearly, when I use Windows media player or Itunes, and using any other equipment attached to my system, cd, md, dvd. any ideas please

BTW, in windows 7, using mj12, there is sound in the back speakers?
