I'm not sure how unique my setup is, but it does do the trick.  Of course I have long believed in a single gigantic drive for storage.  This eliminates the delay of moving huge files between drives because one filled up.  Of course the entire drive can...but this saves you from shifting focus from music to movies if each type is on a different drive.

I prefer minimalistic folder structure here simply because moving files always leads to a higher chance for problems.  So quite simply, video, then a few major categories: movies, television, music, Christmas.

I may revisit this later.  At the moment I've got to finish up some assembly code due tomorrow.

Anyone with movies, please share what you know at AVSForum.  It would be a big help.

I posted a general overview with a link back to Interact on my server build log.  It is good to share ideas but I find that there are so many variables relating to this topic that it just seems endless in ways.

Software to use (MC of course!)
Data types (DVD rips, BR disc, ...)
Client interaction
Server configuration
10-foot input devices
Tagging and meta data

Streamlining the content adding process is really starting to become an issue.  It just takes too long right now.  In a perfect world, a system could be configured to watch for content (disc, flash drive, etc.) and then users could insert the disc and simply wait for it to be ejected.  Then, the cover art and meta data should get added in a highly customizable fashion.  That would be great.
