Lossless media editing on MP3s
« on: July 06, 2002, 02:18:00 am »

Because MJ needs to decode MP3s to Wav to edit MP3 files, then encode them back to MP3s after editing, or cutting into several songs, which is what I like to do, I lose a lot of quality on the music.

After every decoding and encoding, there is a loss of quality that I can't get back. That is why I have to use this little free shareware  program called mp3DirectCut, the web site is at  http://www.rz.uni-frankfurt.de/~pesch/#mp3dc].  The difference in the sound and quality of the MP3s when I edit my MP3s when they are not decoded  to .wav, then encoded back to .mp3 is amazing. So much less distortion.

Anyway, for those of us who like to slice, cut, join, and manipulate our MP3s, MJ, please consider lossless editing of MP3s in the future.

Other than that, you're product is great.
