Preface: I use MC for my documents (in a specific data library)

I often jot down quick notes while woodworking. Since I started using MC as my data manager, I usually create a text file in a ToImport folder then MC auto imports it. Then I tag it at some point so that I could find it quickly.

I just tried the MC's Notes to jot something down, and assigned it a genre.  I then went to my woodworking view and searched for it. I got the hit, but PLAY did nothing. How do I get the note to come up other than going into Notes in the tree?

Once there is a function to export the notes to .txt files (with renaming rules etc), this would be great for me. It would save me having to create a text, import, tag, etc.  But I can't commit to it yet.

Anyone? How can I play a jrnote?
My "cooking" view scheme shows that I have a jrnote re eggs - tips.
I double click on it but nothing happens.
How can I play it without selecting Notes in the tree?
