Is there any way to set the "Sort Album" field used by iTunes?

Hello,

I was wondering if it is possible to use MC in order to write into mp3 files the tag used by iTunes/iPod to sort albums in a user-specified way (I don't like the default alphabetical order). For reference: http://www.tunequest.org/ipod-sort-your-albums-by-year-of-release/20080417/
I'm not technically informed if this tag is specific to m4a files of if there is an ID3 equivalent, I have found only the following information into this post:
