[FIXED] BUG: UNC Problem with "Custom Stack Location"
« on: April 20, 2010, 11:12:54 pm »

I'm not sure if it is me not doing stuff correctly or a bug!  I'm trying to create a handheld stack of MP3 from my lossless files to make syncing quicker for the handhelds.  I've setup my handheld, and configured it as:
* Audio: Always convert --> MP3 --> High
* Conversion Cache: Checked "Cache converted file (via a stack), Custom Stack Location of "\\SERVER\Media\Cache", and Cache directory rule of [Album Artist (auto)]\[Album].

When I "Build cache for sected handheld", it slowly (seem to only do one at a time not four) the following:
1) Open the original file from \\SERVER\Media\Music
2) Create the MP3 and Coverart in the C:\Users\Mum and Dad\AppData\Roaming\J River\Media Center 15\Temp\ directory
3) in the log the "File failed to be added to stack"
4) Delete the MP3 from the ...\J River\Media Center 15\Temp\ directory

Items are not added to the stack or created in my "\\SERVER\Media\Cache" directory.  I was also getting a popup with each tracking saying I was low on disc space (1TB Free!) and did I want to continue (I got sick of this so checked the "dont tell me again" box).  Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks
Nathan

This has to be a LAN thing (bug?) as everything else appears to be fine.

Did you / can you, try adding \\SERVER\Media\Cache as a mapped network folder and instruct MC to use the mapped folder path instead?
If that works, then I'd say you've probably found a problem, and if not, I really do not know!

Works fine for me, or at least it did  a few builds ago, as long as you're not using a LS client to do it!

I do use a mapped drive letter not a UNC for my cache path though.
