some type of digital output would be nice, to run to a nice external DAC.

Just wondering if you send out an e-mail when you have shipped an order?

We may be able to provide a similar device with wired Ethernet and Optical out.  Would you pay $30 more to get those features ($119 + shipping)?

Yes definitely.  I am using an airport with itunes for the only reason to run music from my PC across the room to my Digital amp and AV system.  I have a 100k file library that runs like ..... on iTunes.  It can't handle libraries of this size.  Your unit would be very competitive with the Airport. ... Please Save ME.  mromanowski01 at comcast net when you have it available.  I would pay 20 more if you could rush the development. :D

Yes!  If I can turn off the wireless stuff, so much the better.

+1 for happily paying an extra $30 for wired LAN and optical or SPDIF audio output.

Any thoughts or plans to offer a DNLA renderer with HDMI support as well as audio? This is my missing link..

I would also pay more $30-40 for a digital audio out and ethernet version of the Id.

Also, I would like to emphasize that this is a good product.  It works.  There is very little delay, and it seems like once it is on the network, you are done with thinking about it.  I think I will quickly forget that there is a wi-fi network involved between the player and the speakers.  I have tried so many other devices to break the player to speaker physical connection in the past.  The Linksys Musicbridge, Netgear Wireless Music Player, Sondigo Sirocco were 3 worthless bricks.  The Roku Soundbridge M1001, and the much larger and prettier M2000 have the advantage of good screen displays but spotty performance connecting to JRiver Media Center.  However, the JRiver Id just plain works.

Thank you for creating a superior and simple product.

Ethernet and a pristine SPDIF out? I buy.
Don’t mind to pay a little bit more for a decent enclosure either.
Current one won’t win a Red Dot design award I’m afraid.
A professional presentation on the website ( specs, some quality pictures) won’t harm either.

ETA?   Weeks?  Months?

3.5-mm audio minijack for analog or optical digital sound

Hopefully the SPDIF your adding is compatible with the description above?

Hi,

When the sp-dif/wired version be available, let me know, I will buy it.
I have just received the Id, and I have few questions:
1) When linking Main Zone to the Id, controling from PlugPlayer, they do not skip songs, and became a little unstable. I tested it in more powerful Server (1,6Ghz Atom Based Mini Itx Pc x 2,8Ghz Quad Core), and they got better, with a small delay in skiping songs.

2) Does  using more powerful PC's (in a server or client??)  make a diference? In this case, I will re-think using Mini-itx Pc's.

Thanks

Antonio

The first thing that comes to my mind is WiFi
The poorer the reception, the smaller the band width
If possible try positioning the ID closer to the router.

Try using the stand that came with the Id to put it in a vertical position.

The Id is close to wi-fi. The problem seems to be in the PlugPlayer/J River interaction! I am using a D510 1.6Ghz Intel Based Mini Itx PC. Does using a more powerfull PC would make a diference?

Let me explain better. The whole Program (MC) seems to be unstable when I link the Main Zone to the Id, controlling from PlugPlayer. I tried the same operation with a more powerfull PC, and things got better (Also, in this second PC, there are fewer Songs 12.000 x 65.000).

It's a bit of a brick, not too big.  You can see it in this picture.

From the picture it seems like the brick itselv is connected to the outlet (in other words, not cord to brick, then cord from the brick to the unit itself). DOes the brixk support 230V? If not, what kind of wattage and voltage do the brick have to support? (for getting a new brick for 230V-systems)

230 is fine.  It is a switching power supply.  The plug is US style, so you would need an adaptor only for it.

Ok, thanks for the info. If its easy to get maybe PoE can be something to be considered in future hardware-revisions?

This is something I would be interested in. Also, I will definitely keep a lookout when you guys release an audio/video/picture version, with Netflix support, because that would be awesome. Then I'd use that device in my bedroom, my workstation will, of course, stay in my guest room/office, and my living room will have the PS3. HDMI or optical is definitely a plus, so is wired ethernet. :D

Just wondering what the chances of a multiple-channel device becoming available?

Rather than having to purchase 4 devices, I'd love a device that had 4 stereo channel outputs.   Obviously a lot of the hardware would be duplicated with 4 units, so there may be economies of scale by having a unit with multiple outputs.   For example, if it was $250 for 4 analog channels, wired only, I'd be keen.

In my case, I have a computer that sits in my garage that is only there because my whole of house audio unit (Russound) also sits in the garage.    I'd much prefer to move the PC inside the house (much better conditions for a PC), but this would either require 4 IDs, or trying to mess around with Audio Baluns over Cat5.

Any thoughts?

Kane

How do I configure the ID when I have a secure wireless network?  Airport Extreme with standard WPA encryption.

Okay, will grab old laptop with wireless card (use Macs now) and will copy to flash drive. That was the missing piece.  Can't wait to try this tonight.
