Multitasking problem
« on: July 27, 2010, 01:49:51 pm »

When trying to 'Rename' a field such as Artist all goes well EXCEPT when I'm ripping at the same time.  (I think this occurs whether or not music is playing)  For some reason I will lose the open edit window and my cursor is shifted way up the list for no apparent reason.  Occasionally I can get a few letters in, but then, the next time I enter any letter it will close the edit window and move the cursor.  If I edit without ripping in the background it works perfectly, i.e., it does NOT close the window and shift the current line.  Sounds like a bug, but perhaps I'm doing something wrong, or perhaps this is just a 'restriction'?  ;)

I get similar behavior when I've got an edit window open while a track change occurs.

In general there seems to be odd behavior &/or inconsistencies with file selection and the tagging window. Sometimes (but only sometimes) the tagging pane won't update when a new file(s) is selected so that, even though the selected file shows as selected in the view scheme, data entered into the tagging window is applied to the previous selected file. This tends to be frustrating as you need to keep a close eye on what file is showing in the tagging pane. I have a feeling there are a few of my tracks floating around with their neighbors' metadata on board...

I certainly don't know for sure, but these two issues and your issue all feel related.
