We just moved all forum users to a new Interact theme called 'jriver', and disabled user selection.

The jriver theme should have the same header and footer as http://www.jriver.com.

Please let us know if it is working correctly for you.  You may need to refresh your browser.

I must be getting old... but ... I find the contrast between the black Header with the non-selected options in "Home, Download, Putchase, Support, Company" poor and uncomfortable to see (coul dbe that Black is not a great "background" colour).

I just lightened the color.  Could you try it again:

The new blue header backgrounds are better. The black stripes were a bit too in-your-face. I was going to suggest gray and already did a couple of mockups (attached), but the current color may be as good.

4. A fine-tuned version (The headers are the same blue as the darker blue in the top bar and the light gray areas are neutral instead of tinted with teal color.)

It's a big improvement, but...

Speaking of contrast, I find the extreme difference between the new banners and the white space around the forum content a bit jarring—especially when those white spaces are large. I note a view of a topic alternates a shaded with a very lightly shaded background by post. Maybe the colour of the white space could be changed to the same as that light shading—to soften the overall impact of the page.

Actually I did a mistake -- the names were incorrect. gray2 was incorrectly named gray1 and vice versa. They are fixed now.

A couple of suggestions, if you don't mind (having created numerous YaBB forums in a previous life).

There are too many colors on the forum pages, and they split between dark (black, gray, blue), and gray-scale with a purplish hue.  The purplish background doesn't work color-wise with the blue MC logo.  Since blue is your logo color, use it more in the forum.  And the MC logo might be good to replace that teeter-toter (or whatever it is) log.  Attached is a fast mockup.  I didn't bother to hit other areas, but they would be updated too.  And I added black in the triangle of the logo for a rollover affect, just for fun.

I love the way you can hide the top thingy with the way-to-high Remote Control image. Only problem is that you have to refresh the page to hide or expand the second time (as others mention). ONE thing I'm missing on the new theme is a link directly to the Forums, from the main menu (home, download, purchase, support, FORUM, company).

Yabb.jriver.com is just not something that most of us remember I think.

IE8 in compatibility mode does it. Turn it off and run true IE8 and it works fine.

i like the new forum. i do miss something from the old forum though. there where these nice links to for instance the dev zone... just had too find my way through the faq to get there.

I don't know, King... I suspect you might not be too keen on changes of most sorts.  

As for Jim, you gotta watch him every second, don't you?
