Cover art for data files
« on: December 13, 2010, 12:06:36 pm »

I recently started importing data files and tagging them using fill Properties from Filename.
When doing this i ensure each file is given an Album field so that i may view my data files by Album Thumbnail.
Each data file sits in its own folder aside cover art named Folder.jpg

The problem i am having is that the cover art only shows up when i browse to the jpg to add it.
I have hundreds of data files so i cannot do this for all of them

Update thumbnail does not work
Quick find in cover art directory doesn't work

cover art works fine with all of my videos so i know its not my settings.

The difference between my data files and my video files is that my video files are nativity supported by MC and are auto imported, where my data files are not.

It appears that MC treats cover art differently for data files.
My data files are books/comics. cbz, cbr, pdf, docs, ltf, etc.

Is there a fix for this?

Thanks

the "lookup coverart function" does not work for Data/Documents, sorry

but if you have the setup with folder.jpg, it's quite easy to fix (though it's not pretty)
temporarly change "Media Type" (for the files you want to update) to Video, do the lookup then change back to Data

Thanks for the response.

I tried switching media type to video and it worked perfectly.

Instead of switching between media types i think i may just leave the data file's media type as video,
then exclude those file types from my video views.
